9/16/22 Night Fog
Night Fog
Over the entirety of the night sky, a misty layer of fog blocked out every star from shining. It seemed so thin and yet it was so strong, so deafening to light. Even the moon was weakened to a faint circle of light trying its hardest to break through the cloud.
It made the night darker, an extra eeriness to the existing uncertainty of the night. The only lights to be seen were from street lamps or flashlights, passing cars or homes. It was all good enough, but something about the absence of that natural night light was upsetting.
No longer could you look to find constellations in the twinkling stars. No longer could you admire the spots of the moon. No longer could you stare into the bright abyss and dream of what all is out there. No, the fog blocks it all.
In the day the fog is gone but by night it returns. As soon as the first star starts to peak into view, the clouds roll in, leaving no time for gazing at the universe. It’s like it blocks our minds to the possibilities, keeping us contained to this planet here, taking away our hopes and dreams of venturing outwards into the vastness of space.
The End
