 Immortal

Hailey took her last step and froze, breathing deeply, then letting out a relieved sigh. “I did it,” she said emotionlessly. “Now what?” Hailey sat in the short grass field, next to a dark wooden fencepost. Having finally walked across every continent on earth, what else was there to do?

Looking out at the ocean Hailey pondered what her next life goal would be. She had already made so many and completed them all. With an infinite amount of time, so many things can be accomplished. Hailey had lived so many lives, done all the things she ever dreamed of doing.

These pauses in her life were always the worst. No matter how big the goals she set, they always came to an end eventually. After having done everything, it is hard to find new things to do. The ever changing advancements of the world gave brief entertainment, but grew old very fast.

For days Hailey sits, simply trying to figure out how to live life, figure out what kind of person she wants to be now, what she wants to do, thinking if she wants to go on a big adventure or settle down and have a normal life for a while. But for now she sits, wind lightly brushing her face, the salty smell of the ocean filling her nose.

Living an immortal life is hard for Hailey, no matter how many people are around her, in the end, she always finds herself alone.
