 The Paulwick Pirate (Part 7)

The Paulwick and her crew sail back to England. Upon arrival the Flint asks to speak with the King and being a Captain, he is granted an audience. Flint heads to see the King, leaving the crew scattered around the docks. Leona tries to follow him. 

“Flint, I am coming with you. I will wait outside the throne room while you speak with the King but I am coming!” Leona declares.

Knowing he won’t win this, and too frustrated to fight, Flint agrees and let’s Leona come with him. Upon reaching the Castle, Flint and Leona are led down many posh halls until they reach the throne room. Flint is let inside while Leona waits on a small bench in the hall.

Flint storms into the throne room, where the King sits calmly. “My King, you have betrayed me! I have been loyal to you for many years and now, after one mistake, you send me on a wild goose chase! I demand to know why you have done this!” Flint fumes.

The King calmly stands up, “Captain I have no idea what you’re talking about. The way I see it, you have been sent on two missions now and failed them both. The first I was able to forgive, but now with this second failure I don’t know if I can.”

Flint’s eyebrows raise in anger, “You set me up to fail this mission! There was no possible way I could have succeeded! This is unfair, you can’t do this!”

“Actually I can,” the King motions to the guards standing at the back of the room, “Captain Flint Zelly, I hereby strip you of your rank of Captain and sentence you to imprisonment. Guards, lock this man up.”

The two guards grab hold of Flint’s arm. He struggles to break free but the guards overpower him. Loosening up he stops fighting them, knowing he will lose. The guards drag him out of the room. Flint looks to Leona as he is dragged away.

Leona watches as they take the Captain down a hall. She knows that if they are arresting the Captain, her and the crew must be next. She quickly slips away and finds her way out of the castle to find and gather the crew and tell them what happened.

  Musical Footsteps One day as he walked, a musical note began to play. With each step a new note, always complimenting the one before. There was no piano, just his stride, creating a beautiful melody for all to hear. He didn’t know why the music played, but he enjoyed it nonetheless.   The Girl in the Horse Painting “Oh man have you seen that one painting, the one with the horse, on that blue background.” “Yeah! Oh my gosh that painting is so good. I’m actually looking to get a print of it to hang in my house.” “That would look so good in your living room, or anywhere really.” “I know, it’s such a good painting it could go anywhere really and make the room better!” “Have you ever noticed the girl in the background? I never had until someone pointed it out to me and then I couldn’t stop looking at her.” “There is a girl in the background?” “I know right. I was shocked too, but yeah, there is. 4/24/22 Carried by the Breeze

  Carried by the Breeze She stood in the breeze, arms stretched out wide. “Take me away,” she said, and the wind complied with her request. It picked her up off the earth and carried her through the sky and clouds.  Although a wondrous view passed by below her, she just closed her eyes and floated with the wind. The sight could be replicated but this feeling would never be again. She did nothing but float, feeling the breeze run through her hair, trying to capture it in her hands. Hours went by and she enjoyed every moment, but the chill of the sky began to wear into her, she was ready to go down. The wind however had different plans, it was not ready to let her go. Her assumption of being a friend to the wind changed as she realized she was prisoner to it. Struggling against air, she tried to point herself downwards and break free.
