4/6/22 Cookies

 Cookies

“Oh wow, that’s a nice looking cookie,” he exclaimed, staring at the perfectly placed chocolate chips on the light brown base of the cookie.

“Dang that’s a nice looking cookie also,” he said, admiring the contrast of the white chocolate chips on the red velvet cookie.
“Woah, I’ve never seen a cookie so perfect,” he said, in awe of the chocolate fudge brownie cookie floating in front of him.

As he was admiring the floating cookies, milk started rising out of the floor, appearing out of nowhere. “Ah man, my socks are gonna get all milky.” He tried to step out of the milk but it kept rising, slowly, higher and higher.

Trying to distract himself from the imminent milk, he looked around the room and spotted a perfectly gold brown cookie, “Wow, I don’t even know what that would taste like but I bet it’s amazing.”

He tried walking towards the golden cookie, but the ever growing amount of milk on the floor continuously made it harder and harder to move. After wading through the cold milk, he made it to the golden cookie.

As he reached out for it, it floated away slightly, “No please, do you know how hard it was to get to you!” he shouted at the cookie. The cookie did not seem to care.

The milk began to reach his upper chest, he prepared himself to swim, knowing he would soon drown if he didn’t. Although dangerous, swimming upwards in the milk would bring him closer to the golden cookie.

He stopped and waited as the milk continued to rise. He began to swim with it, upwards, towards the ceiling, towards the magnificent cookie. As he got closer and closer, the cookie would float away, but once it hit the roof, it had nowhere to go.

He was so close now, the cookie inches away from his grasp and trapped against the roof. He reached out and grabbed it, feeling the soft warm texture. He tenderly took a bite of the cookie, reveling in its taste; sweet and savory, crunchy but soft, so perfect. He did not care as the milk engulfed him completely, the taste of the cookie was worth dying for.
