Drawn to the Ocean
Fascinated by the draw of the ocean, Sierra was in it every possible moment she had. Whether she was swimming, jumping in the waves, or just dipping her toes in for a brief moment, the feel of the cold salty water against her bare skin gave Sierra a feeling like no other. The rush of the chill as the water makes contact with her feet is something she wouldn’t dream living without.
Of course there were days she couldn’t touch her beloved ocean, even though she lived so close. Life got in the way sometimes and the ocean would have to wait another day. Sierra’s friends got bored of the ocean very quickly, anytime she would suggest somewhere to go it was always the beach. Her friends never understood her obsession with the grand body of water, Sierra couldn’t even explain it herself, but something pulled her in, an invisible wave sweeping her towards the water.
On sunny days, Sierra always found herself enjoying the cool water. She never cared about the cold, her skin grew numb to it over time. When others would squeal and run away, Sierra would dash in as fast as she could. Her connection with the ocean was unlike anything else. Whenever she was there she felt happy and safe, even when massive waves crashed in the distance, it only swept Sierra with a calm feeling.
Lying down on the beach, watching the sunset over the water, was the best thing in the world for Sierra. She often did it alone but she never felt alone. The ocean was always there for her. When her friends turned her away, she could always just run back to the ocean.
