Forgotten Memories (Part 8)
Jeremy sits up in a cold sweat, breathing heavy from the memory he had just seen in his dream.
“Well he is sleeping right now but if you’d like,” the nurse stops as she notices Jeremy bolt awake, “Oh nevermind, it looks like Mr. Paine has just woken up.”
Jeremy looks over and sees Sarah standing next to the nurse. She gives him a smile and a small wave.
“Well I will leave you two be, call if you need anything,” the nurse says as she leaves the room.
Sarah walks over to Jeremy’s bedside, “Hey, remember me?”
Jeremy smiles, mimicking the one she gave him just moments ago. She takes that as a sign that he recognizes her.
“Have any new memories pop up while you’ve been here?” Sarah asks. Jeremy gives no response as English is still elusive to him. “Right, right, sorry. The party, and Raina?” she asks the question with the tone of her voice.
“Dancing, Raina, mistake, stick to the shadows, require more,” Jeremy responds, repeating phrases he heard in his dream.
Sarah quickly tries to piece together what the words mean. She attempts to fill in his sentence, “Dancing with Raina was a mistake? You should have stuck to the shadows because you require more?”
“Raina, stick to shadows, require more,” somehow from the memories, he was able to gain somewhat of an understanding of what he was saying. Slowly his memory and knowledge of the English language was returning to him, many words were missing, but it was a huge step in the right direction.
“Raina sticks to the shadows? She required more?” Jeremy stared at Sarah blankly. “Umm, Yes,” she said, nodding her head up and down, with a smile on her face, “No,” she said, nodding her head side to side with a frown, attempting to teach Jeremy these responses.
Jeremy smiled, and slightly nodded his head up and down.
