 Forgotten Memories (Part 9)

Excited by his understanding of yes and no, Sarah pushes on with her questions. “Did Raina make you lose your memory?” Jeremy’s eyes twitch as another memory plays through his head.

“Before the night is over, you will lose your memory and forget you ever met me.” Raina lets out a short little laugh, “Actually, you won't remember anything at all. Even better!”

Jeremy doesn’t even say anything, he tries to run away from the crazy woman in front of him. Raina grabs his arm and injects him with a clear liquid.

“I would run home Jeremy, soon you won’t know where home is,” she whispers in his ear.

Jeremy snaps back, “Raina, lose memory,” he nods his head up and down.

“Do you know where we can find Raina? No you don’t know how to respond to that,” she thinks out loud. “Um, Raina, Club, Name?” Another memory flashes in Jeremy’s mind.

As Jeremy is stumbling out of the club, he turns around to ensure Raina isn’t following him. The neon sign of the club appears in his memory. The words “Club Echo” flash in bright blue and pink lights.

“Club Echo,” Jeremy says, surprising himself. This was the first time he was able to say words that had not already been spoken to him.

“Club Echo?” Sarah repeats. Jeremy nods his head yes. Sarah immediately pulls out her phone and looks up the club. It is not too far away from the hospital. She was so ready to head to the club before she realized she had no idea what Raina looked like.

“Jeremy,” she says softly, “Can you tell me what Raina looks like?” She is not hopeful that she will get an answer. Her doubts come true as Jeremy stares blankly at her. An idea pops in her head. Sarah once again pulls out her phone. She looks up pictures of women of different skin tones. Going through them she has Jeremy nod yes or no to each one.

As she reaches a picture of a dark skinned woman with curly black hair, Jeremy nods his head yes. “Ok, now her clothes,” she says and she points to her own clothes. She starts showing Jeremy different colors on her phone. When she pulls up a black swatch Jeremy nods yes.

“I’m going to find her Jeremy, I will make her fix you.” With a very loose description of Raina, and knowing it’s the best she’s gonna get, Sarah leaves for Club Echo.
