 The Dice Story (Part 2)

The girls' flight left in just over an hour, and they were still stuck in the long line of traffic, waiting for the turtle to be moved. Every minute made them more and more nervous that they would miss their flight. All their planning, to go relax on the beaches of Hawaii, would be gone.

“Hawaii must not want us so they sent a turtle to keep us away,” Hannah said trying to lighten the mood for both of them.

Sasha laughed, “I guess so, hopefu-” she was cut off by a loud horn. The two girls looked behind them and saw cars shifting out of the way, letting a large white truck pass on the shoulder.

“Finally, that must be animal control!” Hannah said excitedly.

“I guess Hawaii does want us after all.”

The girls' wait was now filled with hope, knowing that they should be moving any second now. After a few minutes, animal control had safely moved the turtle and cleared up the ramp. The cars quickly started moving, all trying to rush to the airport. Hannah followed along, as quick as she could without crashing into the car in front of them.

They drove into the parking garage and managed to find a spot pretty quickly. The two girls hurriedly grabbed their bags, locked up the car, and started speedwalking into the airport.

“Hawaii here we come,” Sasha said happily as they made it inside. Her joy was stopped however when they hit security. Because of the turtle backup, all those people in all those cars were now going through security all at the same time.

“It’s alright, we got this, we still have forty-five minutes before our flight leaves. I’m sure the airport knows about the turtle incident so if some people are a little late, they should understand,” Hannah said, reassuring Sasha and mostly herself.

After the tedious wait in line, the scanning of the bags and themselves, the two girls now had a mere fifteen minutes before their flight left. They could hear their names announced over the speaker as they ran towards their gate.

With five minutes to spare, the two girls got to the check in desk and explained their situation to the attendant. She was very kind, scanned the girls tickets, and down the tunnel they went, on their way to their nice relaxing trip in Hawaii.
