Wadako Florthma
“Welcome to the Wadako Florthma Museum of History,” the tour guide announces. “Now you may be wondering, a museum on the history of our entire country? Yes. Here at the WFMH we have collected all known data on how Wadako Florthma came to be, and compiled it all in this museum.”
The tour takers gaze in awe at the giant museum, and at the sheer spectrum of material that lay within.
“Now as many of you probably know, Wadako Florthma went through a lot of war before becoming the nation it is today. Wadako started as a nation of fifty individual states, but through over two-hundred years of war, whittled its way down to just four states.” The tour guide points to a wall. “If you look here, this display gives an easy to read summary of the wars and alliances of the two-hundren year span.”
The tour guide steps back and lets his tour takers examine the wall. They walk along it, looking at how the map drastically changed over the years, seeing how states brutally took over others, and how they allied with others to become an even stronger force.
“Now we may have tons of data during those two-hundred years, but the biggest question we have not been able to answer is how it all started.” The tour takers give their guide a puzzled look. “From what we have gathered, the fifty states all seemed to live pretty harmoniously for a long time. Then all of a sudden, wars started breaking out, states claiming other states, pure chaos. There have been many theories as to what started it all, but sadly we will never know for sure.”
“What theory do you guys think is the right one?” one of the tour takers asks.
“I cannot speak for everyone, but me personally, I like the war game theory.”
“What’s that?”
“Well basically, one or more state leaders of the original fifty states decided to do a theoretical war of the states. They came up with plans and ran simulations of how it would all go down,” The tour takers listened intimately to the guide, “As the theory has it, a neighboring state heard about the plans but didn’t get the message that it was all theoretical, and that the leader never meant it to be real. It was just for fun, a game. But the neighboring state did not take kindly to plans like this and then declared war. From there all hell broke loose and actual wars broke out all across the states.”
The guide pointed to the start of the wall the tour takers had been looking at. “You can read all about the first war right there and how it snowballed into chaos. Or if you would like,” the tour guide turns around, “you can read about all the different theories on the wall behind us here, decide for yourselves which theory you like best.”
“So it’s sounding like one state really just screwed itself and the country over,” a man says to the guide.
“It was all unintentional, but if you would like to place blame on someone, I guess it would be them, yes. That however is all history now, and the person I would like to give blame to, is whoever named our new nation Wadako Florthma.”
The tour takers laugh and the guide continues. “I mean really, they took the four remaining states and merged their names together into that, and everyone went along with it! We also do not know who originally came up with the name, but I would definitely like to have a chat with them. Anyways though, you are now free to roam the museum at your own discretion, if you have any questions whatsoever I will be at the help desk to answer them. Please enjoy the rest of your day at the Wadako Florthma Museum of History, thank you.”
