 Creature

“Do not test me furred creature for I am above you. I am and forever will be mightier than you.” He looks the animal dead in its eyes, those neon yellow eyes with thin slits of darkness.

The animal does not move, it simply sits and observes what he is doing, planning its next course of action.

“You may think yourself smarter than I but my mind can comprehend things impossible for you to ever understand. Instinct alone drives you, but a greater knowledge aids me.”

The animal pays no mind to his words. It shifts into a new position, ready to move closer to the man.

“You think yourself sly in your subtle actions, but I know you, I have always known you, from the day you were born, you cannot hide anything from me. Your oh so clever plans have already passed through my mind and I am ready for them.” He puts his arms up in a defensive position, ready to ward off the creature in front of him.

The animal quickly adjusts its plan, moving from side to side, but his arms stay always in its path.

“You shall stay away from me for you are not welcome in my presence. In times past I have welcomed you, yes, but that time is not now. Now you must stay away for I have other matters to attend to.”

The animal continues its attempt to find a way closer to the man, continuing its back and forth rhythm, hoping to catch the man off guard for just a moment, finding the perfect gap to wedge itself into.

“Now, flee from this place creature, I have no more time for you. Your mere presence is a distraction,” he says waving his arms in an attempt to scare the animal away.

But this was his fatal flaw. Between the movement of his arms the man’s lap was left unguarded and the animal jumped upon it.

Mad for a second the man was, but it quickly melted as the animal spun in small circles then lay down on his lap. “Hi Creature,” the man said in defeat, petting his precious cat friend.
