 The People Cage (Part 9)

“Yeah but that’s IF he survives. You know, contestants might find themselves lucky to last so long in the cage, but statistically speaking, the more people that drop, the more likely it is that you are next.”

“Oh man Morris, that’s a scary thought! But you’re right. All of a sudden all the other choices of who to drop are gone and it’s just you and a few other people. Hey Morris, does Ben seem to be staring real hard at Kevin and Hilton right now or is it just me?”

“Yeah Nicky he is, I’ve seen him talking to them a little, it seemed very quiet like he didn’t want anyone viewing to hear.”

“Wonder what he had to say?”

“Well if we get that interview with him I guess we will find out.”

“Oh Morris look, it looks like he is going towards Kevin for some reason. Is he going to try and push him out?”

“It looks like it Nicky, but he has to know that that is not allowed in the People Cage. If a person loses balance and falls, that is fine, but the controllers do not allow contestants to play god for them.”

“I think he is going for the push, WHAT IS HE THINKING!”

“Maybe, maybe let’s wait and se- OH YEP, he pushed him and Kevin is gone. Now it looks like Ben is trying to get a final goodbye or something in to Hilton befor- and there goes the man himself Ben Acres, finally dropped by the controllers for breaking the one rule.”

“After surviving four previous tournaments, he had to know that pushing people out wasn’t allowed right!?”

“I’m sure he knew Nicky, which makes this all the more confusing. But confusing as it is, that drop concludes Tournament 500 of the People Cage. It has been an exciting one for sure, and the most interesting tournament we have had in years.”

“The controllers did not disappoint with this one Morris!”

“No they did not Nicky! Well thank you all for watching and voting as the tournament went along, and we will see you at the next tournament of The People Cage.”

“Goodnight everybody!” Nicky says.

  Musical Footsteps One day as he walked, a musical note began to play. With each step a new note, always complimenting the one before. There was no piano, just his stride, creating a beautiful melody for all to hear. He didn’t know why the music played, but he enjoyed it nonetheless. It sounded so familiar to him, but he could never quite place where he had heard it before. When passersby would ask what song it was, he would simply tell them it was the song from his heart.   The Girl in the Horse Painting “Oh man have you seen that one painting, the one with the horse, on that blue background.” “Yeah! Oh my gosh that painting is so good. I’m actually looking to get a print of it to hang in my house.” “That would look so good in your living room, or anywhere really.” “I know, it’s such a good painting it could go anywhere really and make the room better!” “Have you ever noticed the girl in the background? I never had until someone pointed it out to me and then I couldn’t stop looking at her.” “There is a girl in the background?” “I know right. I was shocked too, but yeah, there is. When you get that print you’ll have to look for her.” “I guess I will. Wow, that's amazing. I’ve looked at that painting a thousand times and never even noticed the girl. 4/24/22 Carried by the Breeze

  Carried by the Breeze She stood in the breeze, arms stretched out wide. “Take me away,” she said, and the wind complied with her request. It picked her up off the earth and carried her through the sky and clouds.  Although a wondrous view passed by below her, she just closed her eyes and floated with the wind. The sight could be replicated but this feeling would never be again. She did nothing but float, feeling the breeze run through her hair, trying to capture it in her hands. Hours went by and she enjoyed every moment, but the chill of the sky began to wear into her, she was ready to go down. The wind however had different plans, it was not ready to let her go. Her assumption of being a friend to the wind changed as she realized she was prisoner to it. Struggling against air, she tried to point herself downwards and break free.
