10/2/22 Night Sun
Night Sun
The moon is on fire. What does humanity even do about that? It’s not like they could launch a rocket out of nowhere to go put it out. How is there even a fire on the moon? That isn’t possible with no oxygen. But there is, the moon is literally on fire, everyone can see it.
It’s not quite as bright as the sun, but still pretty bright. It is ruining night time, the calming yet eerie darkness of the night is gone, replaced with the new brighter light of the moon. A smoky fog engulfs the moon, hiding even more the intricate details, the craters and shadows, the beauty of the moon.
What is even on fire, it’s all made of rock. It must be such a hot fire to look natural while burning on nothing but stone. And how did it even catch fire in the first place? Did poor Icarus fly too close to the sun?
It must have been the solar eclipse. It happened a few weeks ago but the fire must have taken a while to spread. And now the moon is gone, born again into a new sun, a dimmer sun, the night sun as people are calling it.
Although raging with fire, the night sun has a beauty of its own; Glowing through the smoke it created, illuminating the earth in a strange twilight and eliminating the pitch blackness of night forever.
The End
