    “I need one of you to make it out of here alive and destroy that document.”

    Kevin and Hilton’s hearts drop, “Why does it have to be us? Why haven’t you done it already?” Kevin nervously asks.

    “I only recently found out what the document was. It was my last People Cage that I caught a glimpse of the document in the controllers room.”

    “So were you going to try and destroy it this time around?” Hilton asks.

    “I didn’t volunteer for the cage this time like I did before. The controllers found out that I knew about the document and captured me to put me in the cage. I can tell you this right now, I am not leaving this cage alive.”

    Hilton looks to Ben, “That’s why you need our help, you need one of us to destroy the document when you are gone.”

    “Yes,” Ben pauses, “So which one of you is up to the job?”

    “I don’t know man. These guys are blackmailing the government, how is one of us supposed to destroy that thing?” Kevin says between heavy breaths.

    “I don’t know, but one of you has to destroy it and end this madness,” Ben passionately says with tears welling up in his eyes.

    “I’ll do it,” Hilton says, trying to fight through the fear and appear brave.

    “Thank you,” Ben says, giving Hilton a nod. He takes a deep breath, “Kevin, I need you to push me out of the cage.”

    “WHAT!? I can’t push you!”

    “It’s the only way to ensure Hilton wins. Pushing another contestant out of the cage is breaking the only rule. You push me, you’ll be dropped, and Hilton wins.”

    “No, nonononono, I can’t do that, I can’t kill you.”

    “Kevin please,” Ben urges through tears and gritted teeth.

    “I can’t!” Kevin yells.

    “I’m sorry then.” Ben starts to crawl over the chains towards Kevin. Kevin’s eyes go wide as he violently shakes his head no. With a solid movement Ben shoves Kevin backwards, sending him down the long drop to death. As quickly as Kevin fell, the chains below Ben snapped and he joined Kevin on the fall.

    Hilton sat there, taking it all in. “I’m going to live,” he quietly says with tears streaming down his face.

  Musical Footsteps One day as he walked, a musical note began to play. With each step a new note, always complimenting the one before. There was no piano, just his stride, creating a beautiful melody for all to hear. He didn’t know why the music played, but he enjoyed it nonetheless.   The Girl in the Horse Painting “Oh man have you seen that one painting, the one with the horse, on that blue background.” “Yeah! Oh my gosh that painting is so good. I’m actually looking to get a print of it to hang in my house.” “That would look so good in your living room, or anywhere really.” “I know, it’s such a good painting it could go anywhere really and make the room better!” “Have you ever noticed the girl in the background? I never had until someone pointed it out to me and then I couldn’t stop looking at her.” “There is a girl in the background?” “I know right. I was shocked too, but yeah, there is. 4/24/22 Carried by the Breeze

  Carried by the Breeze She stood in the breeze, arms stretched out wide. “Take me away,” she said, and the wind complied with her request. It picked her up off the earth and carried her through the sky and clouds.  Although a wondrous view passed by below her, she just closed her eyes and floated with the wind. The sight could be replicated but this feeling would never be again. She did nothing but float, feeling the breeze run through her hair, trying to capture it in her hands. Hours went by and she enjoyed every moment, but the chill of the sky began to wear into her, she was ready to go down. The wind however had different plans, it was not ready to let her go. Her assumption of being a friend to the wind changed as she realized she was prisoner to it. Struggling against air, she tried to point herself downwards and break free.
