12/2/22 Icelings

 Icelings

The little iceling creatures, native to the Arctic and Antarctic poles. They strive there in the wide open land filled with snow, as that is the only thing they can eat. All day everyday, they survive by simply eating the land around them. But they were found.

Before always hidden in the snow, but now discovered by humans, the icelings were taken from the poles. A creature that ate only snow was perfect. Who needs a snowplow when an iceling will just eat it all for you? They just dispose of it, leaving no awkward piles laying around.

But in some areas, the snow is scarce, and the icelings are forced to hibernate for long periods of time. Many of them die out in the hot summers, not able to stand the heat. They try their best to stay cool in deep underground nests, nourished by whatever snow they were able to collect during the winter.

These creatures were not meant to be all around the world, just to be used as organic snowplows. Their home is the poles where they can live happily, without having to hide away in small cramped spaces just hoping to stay alive. If only man had never found them, their entire population would still be eating away at the northern and southern ends of our planet.
