The Game Only The Player Can End
The game starts with no rules. The player will aimlessly stare at the board trying to find an objective. He will soon find small snakes. These snakes give the player an objective that will continue on forever, they have no end. A normal player will soon see the pattern of the objective and realize it will never end. That player may look for a different objective but quickly come to the same conclusion and he will have the good sense to stop playing the game.
There are however some players who are determined to finish the game. Once they start an objective, they continue to play the game on and on. Some see the pattern and some don't, either way they have hope that somehow, they will complete the objective. These types of players are very rare. There is a tale of one player who continued on the same objective for years. The game had driven him mad. He was so determined to finish the game he could no longer see the repeating patterns within his objective.
One day the creator of the game, an old man made wise by his years, came to the players house and told him that he was never going to finish the game. The creator explained the one rule.
He said to the player "The only way to finish the game is to stop playing."
The player looked at him with bewildered eyes, "You don't understand, I have been playing for so long, I have to finish this objective."
The creator calmly smiled and looked at the man "No, you don't. Do you know why?"
The player thought for a moment and silently shook his head no.
The creator replied "Because when I created this game, I never intended for anyone to play it for this long. The game only ends when the player decides to stop playing, that is the point of this game."
The player gave the creator a confused look "Well then why even make the game in the first place?"
"I made it to teach people that some things in life will never end. With those things you have to realize that it won't end and let it go. If you keep trying to come to a conclusion, you will become consumed by it. Your life will revolve around finishing the task. You have let the game consume you when you should have stopped a long time ago. As the creator of the game, I tell you, STOP PLAYING. Your life will be so much better and you will be a happier person. This doesn't matter it is just a game. Go, live your life and be happy."
The player watched as the creator started walking away. As the creator walked out the door the player heard him say "You'll thank me later."
