12/7/22 Heavy Rain

 Heavy Rain

A slight rain begins, “Nothing I haven’t dealt with before. No, this shouldn’t be any problem.” The air grows colder until it is below freezing, “I guess it’s going to snow. Well snow makes some things complicated but I can handle it.”

The rain does not turn to snow, it just becomes heavy like little rocks, but not ice. “I have never seen this before. How is it so heavy but not frozen? Why is it like that? I didn’t even know that was possible.”

The heavy rains starts to pour, it is now a full on storm. Lightning strikes across the sky followed by booming thunder. The streets start to flood with the heavy water. The thick water makes any kind of movement hard. “This is horrible!”

Water pushes against every door on street level. Some makes it inside, some doors are able to keep it out. “Oh no, my apartment.” Water has flooded in, drenching the floor by the entryway. “No no no,”

The rain continues through the night then stops as the sun rises. The city is full of this thick water from the heavy rain, the drains not able to properly clear it all. So much damage has been done. Heavy as it is, it’s just water; and just like any water damage, it can be repaired.
