Hand of Fire and Hand of Ice

One hand was fire, the other was ice. Two powers she controlled in the palms of her hands. A magical being she was, holding human form, but gifted with incredible powers.

She never knew how or why she possessed the power she did, but it was there nonetheless. No visible signs showed on her hands that would indicate she held such power. It was her secret, only revealed when she used her magic. 

As children learn their left and right, she along with that had to learn her hot and cold hand, with right being ice and left being fire. Thankfully she did not discover her powers until she was also old enough to control them. No fires were set by her small baby self.

She did not use her powers often, only for miniscule tasks, or sometimes just for fun. They had no real purpose for anything greater than those things. She was not a superhero, just a person with some magical abilities. No one ever came to her, asking for help, as not many knew of her gift. 

One day she hopes to find a real purpose for her gifts, a reason for having them, something that makes them special; because what good were her powers if she had no real reason to use them?

  Musical Footsteps One day as he walked, a musical note began to play. With each step a new note, always complimenting the one before. There was no piano, just his stride, creating a beautiful melody for all to hear. He didn’t know why the music played, but he enjoyed it nonetheless.   The Girl in the Horse Painting “Oh man have you seen that one painting, the one with the horse, on that blue background.” “Yeah! Oh my gosh that painting is so good. I’m actually looking to get a print of it to hang in my house.” “That would look so good in your living room, or anywhere really.” “I know, it’s such a good painting it could go anywhere really and make the room better!” “Have you ever noticed the girl in the background? 4/24/22 Carried by the Breeze

  Carried by the Breeze She stood in the breeze, arms stretched out wide. “Take me away,” she said, and the wind complied with her request. It picked her up off the earth and carried her through the sky and clouds.  Although a wondrous view passed by below her, she just closed her eyes and floated with the wind. The sight could be replicated but this feeling would never be again. She did nothing but float, feeling the breeze run through her hair, trying to capture it in her hands. Hours went by and she enjoyed every moment, but the chill of the sky began to wear into her, she was ready to go down. The wind however had different plans, it was not ready to let her go.
