 Musical Footsteps

One day as he walked, a musical note began to play. With each step a new note, always complimenting the one before. There was no piano, just his stride, creating a beautiful melody for all to hear.

He didn’t know why the music played, but he enjoyed it nonetheless. It sounded so familiar to him, but he could never quite place where he had heard it before. When passersby would ask what song it was, he would simply tell them it was the song from his heart.

The song never repeated itself, it was one long continuous melody, the never-ending song. He could never predict what it would be like, everyday was a mystery, one he enjoyed solving.

As he walked and found the current rhythm of the song, he would time his footsteps as best he could to make it sound nice. That was all the control he had, tempo. Sometimes he would jump in the air, and as he landed two notes came together as a chord. Continuous jumping, although tiring, made the song even better.

At first he thought he would grow annoyed with the constant music following him wherever he walked, but he grew to love his song. It became a part of his and after a time, he couldn’t imagine his life without it.
