8/31/22 Erasing Memories

 Erasing Memories

“Please, can you take away the bad memories? I don’t want them anymore.”

“Of course dear, that’s what I do.”

“Thank you.”

“Now come here,” he motions for her to come closer and she leans forward in her chair. He waves his hand in front of her forward, grasping at what looks like nothing, but then a shimmering white mist appears. He pulls them from her brain, condensing it into a tight ball.

She stares at the white light, mesmerized and confused. With a flick of his fingers, a fire lights in the metal bowl in front of them. He moves his hand towards the fire, commanding the memories to go in. They quickly drift toward the flame and disappear in a show of sparks.

“There you go, all the bad memories are gone forever.”

“I don’t even know what I wanted to forget now so thank you!”

“A sure sign of my work, enjoy your happiness,” he says bowing his head and pointing towards the door.

She leaves, happier than she had ever been, a part of her life gone, a part she would not miss and would never have to think about ever again.
