Waterfall to an Unknown World (Part 1)
The lake was so serene, crystal clear waters next to a roaring waterfall, plants growing all around adding vibrant color to the landscape. I had never seen a place so beautiful, and the waterfall, it was so close, so easily accessible from the water. Like a child drawn to a flashy new toy, I had to go and touch it.
Was it dangerous being so close to such strong waters? Yes, but I just had to do it, an opportunity like this would never come again. So I swam closer and closer. As I reached the base where the waters above poured into the lake, it became hard to swim, like the waterfall was pushing me away, but I persisted.
I made it, I was there, right at the edge of the mighty waterfall. Slowly I stuck my hand out, meaning only to feel the water flow against the tips of my fingers. As my fingertips touched the water I quickly realized the water was much stronger than I had anticipated. The moment I touched it my whole hand was sucked in, then my arm, and finally myself.
I took as much breath as I could before being dragged down by the waterfall, into an underwater system of tunnels. It was dark and hard to see through the water. I had no idea where I was going and in no control, simply at the mercy of the flowing water.
The nightmarish waterslide was coming to an end. Looking up I could see solid rock at the end of the tunnel. Unable to turn around I knew this would be the end. With the speed the water was taking me, the collision would kill me for sure. I shut my eyes tight, thinking I would never open them again. But I did, and when I did, I could not believe what I saw before me.
