Waterfall to an Unknown World (Part 2)

The underground tunnel of water had led me to yet another waterfall, flowing to a completely underground cavern. Below I could see the waterfall dumping into a river that cut through the floor of this massive space. I slid down the waterfall like a slide and after recovering from the fall, made my way to the land.

As I looked around I noticed there was a sort of glow to this underground land. It made no sense to me, how could there be light without the sun, or any other light source for that matter? The light seemed to come from the water itself and managed to light the whole area.

The ceilings were so high, at least a hundred feet tall. On the ground there was pale green grass and trees growing from the land. The space was so large, big enough to fit a small town. It was all so strange, everything was off. I walked around on the land, just looking around at the grand purpley gray rocks all around me, enclosing this underground world.

“Hello,” I shouted, but the only reply was my own echo. Just as I thought, I was all alone down there. No chance of rescue and no visible way out. I never thought my dream of touching a waterfall would bring me here. How could I have known? I’m sure I was the first one to ever discover this place as the land looked so natural and untouched.

Sadness struck and I needed to sit down. I went for the closest tree and slid down it, slightly scraping my back but I didn’t notice at the time. My hands started shaking and my breaths grew heavy. Was there any way out? Or was I going to die down there?
