Gravity Can Hold Me No Longer
Chatting with her best friend Mary, Sasha sat comfortably on her bed. Everything was normal, the two girls were talking, nothing could make the situation any more ordinary…but it could become strange.
Half way through her sentence Sasha screams as she is violently pulled up from her bed and shoved into the upper corner of her room by an unknown force. The force holds her there, stuck in the space where the wall meets the ceiling.
Both girls panic, Sasha screams for help but Mary doesn’t know what to do. Sasha’s mother enters the room and is sent into the same horror as the girls. None of them know what is happening or what to do.
Sasha tries to push herself off the wall. It is a hard task but she manages to leave the wall for just a moment before being forced right back on it. She then tried to move herself downwards, still clinging to the wall but leaving the ceiling, but again failed in her attempt. The force pulling upwards was too strong combined with the sideways force.
Mary and Sasha’s mother then pulled at her, grabbing her arms and legs and were able to get her to the ground and, with much effort, hold her there. They thought maybe if they held her down long enough they could break the invisible bond which gripped Sasha so tightly. However it would not let go.
For a whole day she was stuck in that corner. People of various occupations came in and out, studying what was going on, trying to find a way to help, but nothing worked. Another day passed. Aided by her mother Sasha was able to eat and drink, but she was miserable, she didn’t want this to be her life.
A week goes by, and her life does not change, still confined in her cramped position, her body sore yet restless. She is done with this. During one of her feeding times, she asks her mother to pull her down and take her outside. At first her mother refuses, knowing how dangerous that could be. Sasha insists and her mother agrees.
Sasha’s mother holds her tight, making sure not to let go as she takes her daughter out for fresh air. Suddenly Sasha pushes out of her mother's grasp, holding on now only by one hand, the rest of her body dangling upwards. Her mother screams as tears violently gush from her eyes.
“Gravity can hold me no longer mother. Goodbye.” Sasha lets go and begins her eternal accent.
The End
