Fiery Forest
Talera had hair like a soft blazing fire, and eyes as blue as the sky and as cold as ice. She stared at her reflection in a gently flowing creek. Watching the water flow over the rock and mud, her reflection rippled with the water but never moved. Her face held a small smile but her eyes told another story.
With her eyes glossed over, Talera didn’t even acknowledge that she was looking at herself. Her mind was far away, traveling down the creek. Through the ground past the many trees. She traveled like the water, flowing, never stopping. The gentle sound filled her ears, blocking out all other noise.
A great forest bloomed before her, with trees of gorgeous reds, pinks, and yellows. The only green was in the grass. She wandered under the trees as the leaves gently graced her head, almost blending in with her fiery hair. The leaves began to form a crown on her head.
Looking around she noticed it was dark, she did not like this. Talera looked to the sky and her eyes began to glow. The sky copied her and brightened up to match. Light began to flow through the trees as the light blue sky decorated the space between the leaves.
The forest was now hers, she was its queen. Nothing could hurt her in her forest. She was free to roam wherever she pleased. As she continued to walk, the forest continued with her, never ending, never fading in beauty. On her path, multicolored leaves formed like a red carpet for her, knowing exactly where her next step would land.
A loud cawing noise snaps Talera out of her day dream. She returns to the creek in the forest of green trees and dirt floors. Her eyes fell to sadness as she looked at her reflection, wishing her forest could be more than just a dream.
The End
