How I Miss Those Old Blue Skies
Nothing had been the same since that day, when the whole world collectively discovered, they could change the color of the sky. Complete and utter chaos is all that occurred that day.
Somewhere, somehow, one man looked to the sky and thought of a color, and all of a sudden the sky changed to that color. He got confused and tried again with another color, and another color the sky changed. Being excited and curious, he of course told his friend, who told another friend, then the message spread to the internet as the world was freaking out about the sky changing colors.
From that one man’s post, everyone found out how to do it, and the sky went mad. Rapidly it flashed a whole array of every color imaginable. Billions of people all at once, thinking of colors to change the sky. It was like a broken monitor, flashing back and forth between colors, so fast you could barely tell one color from the other.
Some people just sat and stared for hours and hours, others couldn’t bear the sight and stayed inside, blocking out all the views of the outside world. Governments around the world quickly tried to find a way to control the madness, but it was impossible. Aside from taking out the entire world to make them stop, there was no solution to this problem.
Campaigns went out, trying to encourage people not to change the sky’s color, to leave it the natural blue we all know and love, and although it may have reached and worked on some people, it wasn’t enough. So many people wanted the sky to be their color, even if it was just for a moment. Groups were devoted to trying to keep the sky that soft blue, but it was no use and they quickly disbanded.
Now the sky is never just its normal blue, it is a constant mess of indistinguishable colors, constantly flickering. Although mesmerizing to some, others long for the days when the sky was just blue.
The End
