 Tearfall (Part 2)

After a soggy ride to the hospital, they ended up keeping her outside, not sure how to run scans without damaging the equipment.

“Looks like you get to water the hospital's plants, they should pay you to be a full time sprinkler, could probably make good money off it,” her boyfriend joked, but it was not well received.

“Go back to your apartment,” she told him bluntly.

“What?” he asked, confused by the deadly serious tone in her voice.

“You have been next to no help with this, and you aren’t helping anything, so go home.” Without saying anything he turned to walk away, off to call someone for a ride. After he had left, a doctor walked up to her and got as close as he could without being soaked.

“Hello, I am Doctor Liken. I understand how weird this whole situation is and I want to let you know that we have a whole team of people inside trying to figure out what to do right now. In the meantime I would like to ask you some questions.”

“Alright.”

Dr. Liken looks at his clipboard, “When did the water start coming from your eyes?”

“Just a few minutes before my boyfriend called 911.”

“And did you do anything different, out of the ordinary, that might have caused this?”

She starts going through everything she did that day in her head but can’t think of anything, “No, nothing I haven’t done before.”

“Alright,” he looks to his next question, “Aside from the water coming from your eyes, are there any other side effects you have been noticing?”

“Yes. I have developed a raging headache that is only getting worse. I’m very tired and it’s hard to think straight.”

“Those are common side effects of dehydration, and given your condition…” he trails off his sentence but she understands. “What is really stumping us is the amount of water coming from your eyes. There isn’t physically that much water in your body, so where is it all coming from?” She stays silent. “Sorry, I know you don’t know, it’s just boggling. Anyways,” he quickly changed the subject back. “I’m going to head back inside, we are going to hook you up with a water supply before the effects of dehydration become more severe.” Doctor Liken runs inside.
She continues to stand there, in the patch of grass her eyes have dampened. “What is happening to me?” she quietly asks herself.
