  The People Cage (Part 4) “Well Morris, how about we stop analyzing the past and take a look at what’s actually happening down in the cage.” “Everyone still looks a little shaken up from Miles drop, but that’s pretty normal. They will get used to it as more people start dropping.” “Is it just me Morris or does it seem like the controllers have been a little slow on breaking the chains this tournament?” “Anticipation Nicky, it’s all about the anticipation. The longer the period without a chain break, the more exciting it is when one breaks and someone falls! But it does seem about time for something to happen, no one is really moving.   The People Cage (Part 3) “Yeah Morris, it is sad to see such a promising contestant get out so early, but at the same time, it makes it all the more interesting. What fun would this show be if everyone knew who was going to win from the start?” Morris’s upbeat tone immediately returns, “You’re right Nicky. I think the mystery of who is going to win is half the fun of watching this show.” “It also makes it more interesting for the contestants, not knowing if they will be dropped next, not knowing what to do to survive. Well except for Ben Aaron, the man they say has cracked the code of the People Cage.” “They wouldn’t be lying now would they Nicky? He is the first man to ever compete in more than one tournament, and he has actually survived all four he has been in!   The People Cage (Part 2) In the Cage we see the eleven contestants scattered around. Some sitting solidly on the chains, others less balanced, still trying to find a good spot. “You know Morris, it is always so interesting seeing these first moments in the cage. Everyone trying to figure out how the cage dynamic is going to work physically but also scoping out who they might be able to trust in the cage.” “It is fascinating Nicky, even knowing that only one of them will come out of this alive, there are always alliances, friendships, whatever you want to call them. And you know sometimes the controllers like to see that, and other times, when the connection between two contestants feels too fake, they could also be dropped for that bond.” “We have seen all sorts of strategies when it comes to the social aspect of the cage, and you’re right Morris, it really depends on the controllers. Some days friendship might be what they want, and other days they might want no connecti...

  The People Cage (Part 1) “Hello everybody, my name is Morris Bentwell.” “And I’m Nicky Tan.” “Welcome back to the People Cage, everyone's favorite life or death show!” The two TV announcers say in unison. An intro for the show plays. A picture of an upside down chain dome dangling from a cement roof comes on screen. Text flashes in front, “The Cage” Then people fade into the dome and are seen trying to stay balanced on the loose chain, either sitting or dangling, holding on for dear life. Another text flashes, “The Contestants”. Then the image cuts to a dark blue room with four fancily dressed people sitting in chairs holding tablets in their hands, “The Controllers.” A simple graphic is shown of one of the Controllers swiping on a connection point of the chains in the cage, and it is shown that whatever connection point they swipe on breaks, making it more difficult for the contestants. “Who will survive?   We the Dreamers We the dreamers, we the inventors, we the artists, we who wish for something more than what we already have, we create. Sometimes our creations are logical and possible. But other times we delve into the impossible, the dreams we wish would come true.  Anything can come from nothing if you dream hard enough. Everything already came from nothing, first there was nothing, and then there was everything. We continue on to make everything, even things that don’t exist.  The physical creations and the theoretical dreams alike, leave us striving for greatness. It makes us want to be better than we are, more than we can be, even if it is just a dream. Our brains are powerful, wonderful, amazing devices that let us learn and explore and create. To create, be original, discover or come up with something new, that is what we do. We the dreamers make the world a more interesting place. The End 9/22/22

  Inhabitants of the Forest The giant moose watched with its tiny human in the luscious green forest as the moon crumbled. A hand reached out in the sky and had taken hold of the moon. Harshly it squeezed, crushing the moon into tiny pieces.  The moose and the man did not move, they simply stood, staring at the whimsical sight in front of them. A slight breeze blew, waving the man’s cloak and rustling the moose's fur as the moon was crushed in the sky. The silent pair turned away and continued to walk through the woods. The moon was gone now, that was it, time to continue with life. Nothing would change for them, day and night would still come.  The forest grew a bit darker that day, no longer illuminated by the reflection of the sun. It was ok, the giant moose and little man just walked through the endless forest as they had always done; never staying in one place for too long.  This place was their home, they kept the forest as no one else would and no on...

  The Pole Fighter Walking through the dark hallway, hands grasped tightly on her dual metal fighting poles, she approaches a man guarding a room. “I’m expected,” she says deadpan to the guard. He nods and opens the door for her to enter then shuts it behind her once she has fully entered the room. “So you actually showed up,” says a fancily dressed man sitting in the corner of the room. “You called,” she says with a shrug of her shoulders. “That I did,” he says with an eccentric tone, “You see, I’ve heard alot about you and these deadly poles of yours and I just had to see them for myself.” The woman sighs and begins to pace around the room and wave her poles around as she speaks, “You know…every time someone has said that to me, it has never ended well for them.” “Yes I’ve heard about the many enemies you have made, people scared of you being turned on them, that they’d like to just take you out themselves, and yet,” he clasps his hands together, “They are all still a...
